We know that animal adoption saves lives. Destin is full of animal lovers and we see people around town all hours of the day walking with their pups. With some restaurants and  Destin condos being dog-friendly, it’s not uncommon to see four-legged friends at select stops along the beach. Whether you are traveling with your furry best friend or live locally, sometimes we just hate to leave our little guys all day. So where are some places that will welcome our four-legged buddies? Most beaches do not allow dogs, unfortunately. South Walton County is the exception but only for property owners with beach permits for their pet. The Destin Dog Park has opened its gates! The grand opening of the new Destin Dog Park took place on Saturday, January 7th with over 100 pets and owners! The sidewalks and streets of Destin were busy with dog lovers and tail-waggers visiting the park for the first time.   1.5 acres of land dedicated to dogs and their proud owners sits at the intersection of Indian Bayou Drive and Commons Drive.
